Card stock storage idea!

I have a really fun project I made.   I got this idea from Treasure Box Designs design team member Jessica, she shared with the design team her method for storing 12x12 card stock.   She said she cut up used priority shipping boxes.  I thought WHAT A GREAT IDEA!   I've always had mine in those plastic drawers and it's so hard to dig through them to find the right color.   So... I cut up 4 used boxes that I had.  Here's the photo of that:

NOT very attractive is it???  I kept the tops attached to the boxes so I could keep a cover over my card stock.  It helps to keep dust/dirt off them AND away from sunlight which can damage your paper.   So... I got to thinking I should cover them with paper and add some paper piecings.  

Now how stinking cute is this???  I LOVE how it turned out.  The paper is by October Afternoon, the piecings are from the Scrapoholic file from Treasure Box Designs.   I only decorated one box front since only one shows!  Best off all... my new paper storage was FREE!  Thanks for looking and please share if you make a similar project!   ~DT Lara

Maya Road Treasure Box project

Here's a project I made using my Maya Road stash that I got for Christmas.  I got the warehouse box which I LOVE.   I'm definately doing it again if they offer it!!!  The paper piecing is by Treasure Box Designs.  AND get this, it was featured on the Maya Road Facebook page!  How exciting is that???  It was for little ole me!!  I'm almost famous.  LOL.  I crack myself up.

Hum... It appears I keep forgetting to update my blog!  SHOCKING I know.   Here's a card I made using the Sucker 4 You file from TBD

And a phto of the SECRET ingredient used to get the faux frosting look.  :-)  Our little secret.

I made a LO using the Mouse Trap file.  I incorporated my little (not so little) kitty cat into this one.  His name is Lucky, but we call him Snooky.  Or Snook Snooks.  Or Himbs Handsom.  Ok I'll stop. 

But he IS a handsome boy!

I also altered a frame using the purse and wallet set.  Just print out the little cards and slap on some glue dots!  I'm ALL set for Valentines decorating.  Well... maybe I need a little more. 

And my month wouldn't be complete without a PIRATE project!  Ahoy there me Matey!  I love pirates.   Could be that Jack Sparrow is so CUTE!!!!!  Hello.

Envelope mini album

Hey Bloggers!  I'm going to try to show you how to make a mini album.  Please message me if you have any questions!  First, let me show you how messy my table is in my craft room, I have that little TINY space to work in! 

What a mess...

ok, let's get started.  You'll need a 8-1/2 x 11" piece of cardstock.  Score it at 2", 2-1/4", 6-3/4" and 7".   (score with the long piece at the top)

Now use a scallop edge punch (mine is from Stampin Up!) on the left hand side. 

 

Then fold on your scored lines to make the album base. 

Now you need 3 business sized envelopes.  It's ok if they're security ones, you wont see it.  seal the envelopes shut and then cut one 5-3/4", one 6-3/4" and the last one 7-3/4". 

Once you have your 3 envelopes cut, punch a half a circle out of the top with a circle punch (mine is Stampin Up, 1-3/8")

Now we need to make an accorian folded piece for the album to hold our envelopes.  Cut a piece of cardstock 2-1/2" by 4-1/4".   then score the LONG ways every 1/2" until you have 5 parts. 

 

Now glue one end into your album.

Now your going to start adding the envelopes in.  ONLY glue the bottom part of the envelope into the accordian folds.  The envelopes should be able to be lifted up from the album.

You'll see above the envelope is only blued at the BOTTOM.  Glue in the other 2 envelopes into the folds, and glue the folds together.  Play with it first to make sure it "works" before you glue...

 

 

They should all be glued in and able to flip forward.  Now you need to cut some cardstock to cover your envelopes and make them look pretty!  Each piece will be 4" wide, cut 3 pieces (one 5-1/4" long, one 6-1/4" and one 7-1/4" long).  Punch a half circle out of the top of each one.

 

 and adhere them to the front of the envelopes.

Now you need some inserts to go into the envelopes!  you'll need 3.   They'll all be 3-3/4" wide.  Make one 5-1/4" long, one 6-1/4" long and one 7-1/4" long.  Punch out some tabs wtih a Stampin Up tab punch and adhere to the top of each one. 

Then slide into the envelopes. 

Now we add the cat to the table since we don't have enough stuff on it.  LOL

Isn't he HANDSOME??  I love him. 

ok, back to the album.  Now your ready to decorate it! Of course you'll want to use Treasure Box Designs patterns for your ablum!  I used Birthday Baby and Zoo Babies files. 

 

You'll need a belly band to hold it all together.  Cut a strip of cardstock 1-1/2" by 11".  Wrap it loosley around the album then glue the ends of the band together.  you don't want it too tight. 

And here's the finished outside!

Isn't it CUTE?  I just love it.  I'm going to put this one and a girl version on ebay.  So if you don't want to MAKE one, you can buy it in my store.  Give me a couple of days to get it listed!

Treasure Box Designs

I made some projects using patterns from Treasure Box Designs.  I love their patterns!  The candle holder was made with clothes pins covered in scrapbook paper and a tuna can!  yes I washed the tuna can first, LOL.  I put the piecing on with removable adhsive so I can change out the piecing.   Pretty smart eh?  I thought so too. 

Christmas Cards 2012

Class at my house in Eaton Rapids on Sunday Dec 2nd from 2-6:00 pm.   Cards are made in groups of 5.   Pick which designs you want, you'll make 5 cards of that design for $7.50.
